I was so excited when finding out that I would decorate an apple cake for a first birthday celebration. The client told us "the theme is apples... because she likes apples". How simple and great is that? I love when a baby can actually know what the cake is about - that's why we did lots of apples everywhere! We also made cupcakes and single serving apple pies for the event. One of my personal favorite cake to date, for sure!
