Korean Dol Cake

One of the fun project we worked on this past week was a first birthday celebration for a little Korean girl. The mom asked for a mix of traditional with the Korean dol topper, and a touch of fun with the girly flowers all around the cake (inspired by this cake).

Dol is a Korean tradition that celebrates the birthday of a
one-year-old baby. This ceremony blesses the child with a prosperous
future and has taken on great significance in Korea. The birthday
babies wear traditional outfit (hanbok) and hat. {Wikipedia}

"THANK YOU for the amazing cake.
The traditional Korean outfit for the "dol" was better than I imagined.
Everyone devoured the delicious cake, but the Colette figurine
lives on next to the fairy Eden you made for my older
daughter's birthday several months ago. THANK YOU!
